Intumescent seals for fire door frames

[

Following the British Woodworking Federation initiative to define a standard 30 minute fire door frame, Mann McGowan has completed a range of tests in accordance with Certifire Technical Schedules 21 and 35.

This new initiative specifies frame material, density and size utilising a 15mm x 4mm intumescent seal. This is a common, interchangeable frame; lining or casing that can be used with most BWF-Certifire FD 30 or FD 30 S doors.

The Mann McGowan ID range of Intumescents can be used as a fire seal, a combined intumescent fire and cold brush pile seal, or a combined intumescent fire and thermoplastic smoke seal.

The Flexifin smoke seal can also be interrupted at the hinge positions without compromising the cold smoke sealing properties of the product. In addition, the Flexifin seal has been tested in accordance with BS 2750 for sound reduction.

Mann McGowan has also announced that its range of glazing seals – including Pyroglaze 30, 60 and Channel – have also achieved Certifire approval in accordance with Technical Schedule 25.
