Detector range for maritime use

[

Apollo has confirmed that its new generation of conventional fire detectors has been certified under the Marine Equipment Directive.

The Orbis range of detectors is suitable for applications where space is restricted, or where circumstances require fire detection equipment to be discreet.

The range comprises an optical smoke detector; mutisensor smoke detector; three classes of static heat detector; and three classes of rate of rise heat detector. There is also a choice of standard, electronics-free Timeserver Base, and a relay base.

Features include a DustDefy system which prevents duct ingress while maintaining airflow; DirtAlert, which warns service engineers that the detector needs maintenance; and FasTest, a maintenance procedure that takes four seconds to test and confirm that smoke and heat detectors are functioning correctly.

In addition to the Orbis range, Apollo also has the Discovery range of intelligent fire detectors for marine applications.
