Warringtonfire has been bought by Bodycote Group, a global provider of specialist testing and thermal processing services. The new business will be called Bodycote Warringtonfire, which will become part of the materials testing and engineering & technology division.
The range of services from Warringtonfire includes fire safety engineering consultancy, fire testing, inspection and evaluation and certification of products and services through, among others, the Certfire and Firas schemes.
The move represents an opportunity for Bodycote to enter a relatively new sector of testing activity, complementing similar activities in north America.
Bodycote divisional director, Tim Cornes, will work alongside – and will gradually take over the day-to-day management functions from – existing Warringtonfire directors Geoff Deakin, who is retained on a one year contract, and Ralph Shaw, who has been retained for three years.
