New compartment wall installation standard launched

[

LPCB launched LPS 1500, ‘Requirements for the LPCB Approval and Listing of companies installing fire resistant compartment wall systems in buildings’, at International Fire Expo exhibition in May 2007.

The specification and installation of passive fire protection products and systems is a fundamental aspect of fire safety in buildings. If approved and installed properly, passive fire protection limits the spread of fire from one area to another, so reducing the potential for loss, and increasing the safety of occupants and fire fighters.

LPS 1500 seeks to address these issues by defining the requirements for companies installing fire resisting compartment walling systems approved by LPCB to the requirements of LPS 1208 in respect of compartment wall applications.

The Red Book and all LPCB standards can also be viewed and downloaded for free at www.RedBookLive.com.
