HR Prof is billed as an eco-friendly fire retardant and has been specified on the GB pound 200 million St Stephens project in Hull, as well as on local authority developments, schools, and private projects. It is water based and organic, and described as non-toxic, non-allergic, simple to use and safe to apply.
It is Euro-class B-sl-d0 classified, the equivalent to UK class 0.
Unlike intumescent systems, it does not require a protective finishing coat and can either be left natural or over-coated with wood stains, varnishes and some paints. It will not wash out from the substrate once dry and is not converted into smoke when exposed to high temperatures, says the company.
