Smart-Fix+ is Hochiki Europe’s rapid-fix fire cabling system designed to reduce installation costs and waste, and accelerate construction programmes.
The system uses pluggable, lockable and mechanically-coded connections to prevent mis-matching and potentially dangerous cabling errors. Loop cables are supplied in pre-determined lengths based on one-metre increments with factory-fitted connectors at each end.
The cables plug directly into Smart-Fix+ back boxes which are pre-wired to Hochiki fire detection and alarm devices. The back boxes lock into place using a patented ‘swing lock’ fixing mechanism. Once the sensor base or call point is positioned in the fixing cavity, the fixing screws are tightened, which causes a locking mechanism to turn away from the unit and tighten behind the fixing surface.
The manufacturer confidently claims Smart-Fix+ could fundamentally alter the way the construction industry thinks about fire system cabling.
