The 2013 Fire Sector Summit will see the general secretary of the FBU, the president of CFOA, and fire minister Brandon Lewis lock horns in an enticing panel discussion next week.
Taking place next Thursday, 24 October, at Whittlebury Hall, near the famous Silverstone racing track, the summit will bring together fire safety experts, politicians, and many more under a theme of sustainability, innovation, and direction.
Mastermind and Today Programme host John Humphreys will be hosting the panel discussion with the FBU, CFOA, and fire minister discussing the state of the industry and fire and rescue, in the shadow of recent firefighter strikes.
There will also be a series of workshops on topics including false alarms, the idea for a national fire safety register, and the Knight Review — another area where CFOA and the FBU could clash on.
There will also be presentations on recycling-centre fires, fire safety order prosecutions, and the fire risk in high-rise social housing.
