State of Physical Access Trend Report 2024

Access and CCTV protection for immigration office

The company’s systems division will be supplying an automated CCTV and access control system for the Bedfont Lakes site, which will be linked to a Home Office remote monitoring centre.

The system, which will activate automatically when it detects activity, has been designed to protect staff as they carry out important immigration work near the country’s busiest airport.

OCS managing director Richard Fenton-Jones said, “Given its central role in protection from terror, crime, anti-social behaviour and illegal immigration, there can be no more demanding client than the Home Office.

“I am therefore particularly pleased that our systems division came up with a state-of-the-art and extremely robust system which fully meets their brief.”

OCS, which was awarded SIA approved contractor status in March, believes advanced security systems are essential for ensuring a safe working environment for those managing the UK’s borders.

“This contract reflects the increasing importance of highly specialised technologies in the security sector,” said OCS chief executive Chris Cracknell.

“In this case we were able to give a professional response in a very demanding timescale.”
