State of Physical Access Trend Report 2024

Access PSU launched by Contract Locking Services

The PSU, is a 3 Amp, 12v unit, with battery back-up, contained in a hinged metal box measuring 220x220x80mm.

The company says it is “ideal for any electric locking application, in particular a stand alone door entry system where a timed exit switch is required. It is also ideal for magnetic lock or shearlock installations”.

The timed output allows users to switch auxiliary devices such as sounders, strobes, locks and buzzers. A timer also allows the installer and end user to set a time for the switch to stay activated, for example, leaving the lock released or the sounder buzzing.

The PSU is available exclusively through Norbain. Access control and intruder product manager Anne Wesley said: “The in-built timer makes the unit ideal for areas such as receptions, where you don’t necessarily want access control, but you want to release the maglock on the door remotely. This gives the customer time to enter or leave the premises.”
