State of Physical Access Trend Report 2024

Almost 60% of multinationals feel their access control system isn’t future-proofed

Nearly three in five multinationals think their access control system isn’t future-proofed, according to research conducted by Nedap Security Management.

Presented at ASIS Europe 2019 by senior Nedap sales managers Martin Wijlens and Timon Padberg, the study focuses on access control challenges and opportunities confronting multinationals – both now and on the horizon.

The study also introduced Nedap’s Global Client Programme, which is designed specifically to meet the needs of multinationals. Nedap says the programme shortens implementation times and creates cost-efficiencies at scale, partly by standardising processes across sites.

Having one centralised security platform will cut setup costs while shared services and economies of scale will create operational and maintenance efficiencies.

Manufacturer ROCKWOOL International AS is one of the programme’s early adopters.

“Our benchmark study gives multinationals useful peer-to-peer insight into the status, challenges and opportunities of their access control systems,” said Martin Wijlens, a global client sales manager for Nedap Security Management. “It zooms in on topics such as convenience versus danger, infrastructure and map technology.”

His colleague and fellow client sales manager Timon Padberg added: “Due to increasing globalisation and constant changes, the international standardisation of security aspects such as access control is becoming increasingly important. We support multinationals with concrete insights based on market research, and also alleviate their concerns, not to mention workload and stress, through our Global Client Programme.”
