BPT access control system installed at new sports facility

‘The Pavilion’ took 12 months to complete and is an integral part of a larger redevelopment plan in the Stonebridge area.

BPT’s Impro16 access control system has been installed by Genesis Integrated Systems, with 14 keypad / proximity and proximity-only readers have been fitted to the four changing rooms and the entrances of the building.

The Hertfordshire-based company believe the Impro16, which supports up to 2,000 tags operating 16 doors, is ideal for such a set up, claiming it is feature rich and easy to manage.

Staff members have tags to freely come and go, whilst authorised visitors are allocated a code which has time restrictions. Visitors simply enter the code into the keypad within the permitted time frame to gain access to the changing rooms. Such a design makes for a secure site and has time saving benefits for members of staff who don’t have to bother with programming visitor tags in and out of the system.

In line with the Disability Discrimination Act, Genesis also installed a BPT System 200 video door entry system with compliant entry panels and two Lynea monitors. The entry panels feature tactile illuminated buttons, Braille characters and LED indicators for ease of use by all visitors.

The BPT door entry and access control equipment was installed by Genesis Integrated Systems as part of a larger security system featuring CCTV, intruder detection, induction loop and noise control systems.

Chinyere Ugwu, Chief Executive of the Hillside Housing Trust, who manage the site, said: “The flexibility and freedom that this system gives to the staff team, coupled with excellent security, makes the Impro16 an ideal choice for such a community facility. We are delighted with its ease of operation.”
