Siemens Building Technologies has launched a fire alarm system integrating video surveillance technology to identify the causes of fires and a help identify their perpetrators.
The Sinteso Video Fire Controller (VFC) transmits and/or records CCTV images of an incident after an alarm or an event is triggered. The system allows fire and security officers to identify the source of an alarm and react to it without ordering unnecessary evacuations.
Recorded footage from Sinteso VFC can help verify an incident when viewed in a security control centre, and video can be relayed to the fire and rescue service before they are dispatched to an incident. The VFC connects directly to video surveillance systems and fire control panels via Ethernet and Field Device Network (FDnet) detector bus, and is compatible with the Siemens Sinteso range of fire detectors and Sistore digital video recorders.
