Keypad addition
Scantronic’s 65EN alarm panel, available through Norbain, now comes with a 9953EN prox keypad which can be connected to the AX10, a remote setting prox unit that can be used on the exterior of a building (up to 5m away from the 9953EN keypad).
This gives the user a number of advantages, the company claims. It means that the system can be set from outside the building, removing any worries about getting out of the building before the alarm is activated. Because the AX10 has an LED, the user will have visual confirmation of the status of the alarm system for 10 seconds after it has been set or unset. After this time, and in accordance with PD6662: 2004, there is no visual indication of the set status.
The 65EN alarm panel has eight zones on board, which can be expanded to 40, using keypads, MSNODEs (wired expanders), MRNODEs (868MHz narrowband radio expanders) or MSPSU (smart power supply). It also offers remote diagnostics to reduce site visits and the associated costs while the AX10 remote setting prox unit is fully weather-proof to IP65, making it suitable for outdoor applications.

Set and unset
Risco Group is releasing a new version of the ProSys FreeCom Integrated Security System.
The new version will support the group’s G-Tag proximity set/unset solution as well as additional bus detectors.
The company says the system is a “landmark in fully Integrated security and dual-path IP and GPRS communication” because it provides a complete end-to-end solution from the protected premises to the ARC, all from one manufacturer.
The new version of ProSys Proximity LCD keypad is compatible with G-Tag, a set/unset solution for commercial and residential installations and especially single room applications. G-Tag consists of a remote keypad, external and internal readers and G-Tag proximity fobs. It is said to offer flexibility and cost-effective proximity set/unset control of security systems from outside the premises, while meeting DD243 requirements.
The company’s range of ProSYS Bus detectors has expanded with the newly released WatchIn Industrial Grade 3, Industrial LuNar high ceiling Grade 3 model and Bus versions of the popular iWise Quad AM Grade 3 and iWise DTAM Grade 3.
Bus detectors enable unique remote control and diagnostics saving on-site maintenance, simplify the installation and save on wiring costs, says the company.

Panel’s Galaxy quest
Honeywell’s G2 Series of security alarm panels are designed for residential and small commercial applications and built on proven Galaxy technology.
A key feature is its bi-directional functionality, which is delivered through Honeywell’s Alpha radio protocol via an RF portal that can be fitted to the panel. Unlike one-way simple radio functions, the transmitter sends a message on one channel, and then switches to a listen mode. If it does not receive an acknowledgement from the radio within a predetermined time period, it repeats the procedure until it does. The radio transmitter will activate the alarm unless it receives an affirmative response that an intrusion has not taken place.
“We have developed a user-friendly product that installers and end-users will find easier to deploy and to operate,” said Yves Pichon, marketing leader at Honeywell Security and Custom Electronics, Europe, Middle East and Africa.
The G2 Series also comes equipped with a radio control fob, “one of the only hybrid system fobs on the market that displays system status remotely”, says the company.

Plenty of Espace
Daitem’s Espace is designed to detect intruders, fires, floods and other emergencies, and is quick and easy to install, thanks to its wireless capabilities. It can be configured to cater for individual requirements and the systems are easily armed and disarmed via a keyfob or proximity card, as well as a selection of wireless keypads.
Unauthorised entry sets off sirens and strobes and can be set progressively to provide pre-alarm, discrete alarm and full alarm, providing flexible levels of annunciation, deterrence and signal for response.
A plug-in modem provides remote notification of alarms and events, and an optional standalone wireless GSM transmitter enables remote communication with up to three designated individuals or an alarm monitoring centre via verbal, SMS or data messages.
