A new system designed for non-loadbearing internal partition walls that need to act as firewalls or compartmentation walls has been launched by Promat.
The Durawall fire barrier consists of a steel faced panel with non-combustible rock wool core and is complemented by a other products offering protection to doors and voids, penetration seals structural steel and protected zones. It provides up to 240 minutes fire resistance across the complete building system.
Not only are the products themselves certificated; Promat runs a specialist contractor scheme for the design and installation of Durawall systems, and all contractors are third party accredited via the FIRAS scheme.
Promat points out that the system is fire rated at spans up to 9m, which helps speed up installation times on longer, unsupported spans.
