Unisafe forays into India; eyes Rs. 800 cr
Dubai-based fire protection solutions provider, Unisafe has forayed into the Indian market and is expecting an annual sales revenue of up to Rs. 800 crore in the next five years, reported news agency PTI.
Unisafe Fire Protection Specialists LLC, which is a subsidiary of Zicom Electronic Security Systems, recently established its Indian arm — Unisafe Fire Protection Specialists India Pvt Ltd — and has opened office in Mumbai.
“India is witnessing huge growth in infrastructure and many big projects are coming up. There is a need of having modern fire protection systems in these installations and we are here to fulfil that,” Unisafe Fire Protection Specialists India Director Manohar Bidaye said.
The news report said that the company was targeting big projects such as buildings having more than 50 storeys, airports, tunnels and power plants, he added. When asked about its India plans, Bidaye said, “Right now, we are operating only from Mumbai. In the next three months, we will open offices in Delhi, Kolkata and Bangalore.”
In the next five years, the company will be investing about Rs. 50 crore for setting up offices and establishing its network across the country, he said. “We will invest Rs. 10 crore in the first two years,” he added.
The company, which currently employs 15 people, will increase its headcount to 40 by the end of this year, he said. Asked about its revenue target, Bidaye said, “We are aiming to register a sales revenue of Rs. 600-Rs. 800 crore in the next five years.”
Unisafe Fire Protection Specialists India is expecting a sales turnover of Rs. 40 crore in its first year of operations here, he added.
The Indian fire protection system market is pegged at around Rs. 4,500 crore and it is growing at 25 per cent annually, Bidaye said.
The $78 million UAE-based parent currently manages the fire safe measures in many iconic installations such as Emirates tower, Falcon towers and Etihad towers.
Elaborating the company’s process, Bidaye said, “We design and install the equipment’s, which we procure locally. We use various systems such as gas suppression systems and water mist-based systems. Our job is basically that of system integration.”
