Alarm protects homes with outdoor fuel tanks

When the BBC’s One Show ran an item on the rising problem, it featured Castle’s new Fuel Tank Protector and the SMS facility of Euro One panels.

If the cap is opened or tampered with, homeowners will be alerted by an audible alert from their security system. On more advanced alarm systems outside security lights can be activated and SMS text messages can be sent or the Alarm Receiving Centre alerted.

Castle says its solution of a wireless transmitter that sits inside the fuel cap and alarms the customer’s control panel is becoming recognised as a simple solution. It can also be used with any other manufacturer’s control panels by using a Universal Receiver.

Around two million homes in the UK, not connected to the national gas supply, rely on storing their fuel in outdoor tanks.

Said Andrew Knights, MD of Castle Care-Tech: “This product provides the ideal solution to this escalating problem, giving homeowners peace of mind and the means of protecting their property and is a simple addition to any security system whether it be hard wired or wireless”
