IDSS acquires alarm specialist Intact
The acquisition of Intact, a specialist security and alarms company, for an undisclosed sum, broadens IDSS’s services as the group continues to increase its market share as a supplier of support services with an annual turnover of GB pound 18m.
IDSS (ID Support Service Holdings Ltd) employs more than 150 people in two trading groups offering services to blue chip customers such as Sainsbury’s, TK Maxx, Next, Philips, Wilkison’s, Curry’s and PC World.
The two groups are ID Technology Group, specialists in CCTV, access control, electronic tagging and alarms and GK Industrial, specialist in climate control, heating, ventilating and air conditioning.
The newly acquired company will be re-branded as ID Intact.
Chairman, Brian Dunn, who founded the business in 1997 from a single shop in Chadderton, Greater Manchester, said it was a “very exciting growth opportunity” and follows a record financial performance of a 56 per cent increase in profits to GB pound 1.7m to June 2007.
He said they planned further acquisitions to build the business to an “aspired” GB pound 100m turnover.
The existing management team at Intact, headed by managing director, David Pearson, will remain in place.
Pearson said: “I am delighted to become part of a larger group with a great team who have progressive plans of the future.”
