Axis ratifies merger with Temple Security
The move follows overwhelming demand from Axis Security’s existing London and City-based clients to deliver the same quality of service to their regional offices.
This merger creates a GB pound 26 million business, at the same time affording Axis Security the opportunity of having a national infrastructure comprising two state-of-the-art, NACOSS-approved Security Control Centres in the north and south of the country and a network of eight regional offices from which to deliver its service.
In addition, there will be a niche electronic security capability to complement the existing security guarding business.
Since the re-launch of Axis Security in 2008 (at the time covered on an exclusive basis by SMT Online), the company has been looking at various strategies for taking the business model from the City to the regions.
Extending beyond London and the South East
In conversation with SMT Online, managing director Jonathan Levine explained: “Clients work with us because of the quality of our service delivery, but we’ve not previously been able to extend that offering outside of London and the South East because we didn’t have the necessary infrastructure to be able to cope.”
Levine added: “The merger with Temple Security not only gives us this network overnight, but it also has the added attraction of an electronic security business that brings further capability to the service we can offer our customers.”
Temple Security was founded eleven years ago and boast an excellent track record in the security guarding sector, with high levels of client retention. As well as its core security guarding offering, Temple also delivers complementary services including Front of House/reception teams, Post Room services, key holding and mobile patrols.
Additionally, through its electronic security business, Temple is able to offer a range of security systems along with a remote monitoring service to effectively deliver tailored security solutions to its client base.
Vetted, licensed and trained officers
Axis Security was originally formed in 1994 and has grown to deliver a range of security-based services, at the heart of which is its security guarding expertise. Customers include some of the City’s leading property management companies, media businesses, solicitors and other professional service providers.
All of the company’s employees are fully vetted, licensed by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) and trained to the required standards. Levine is swift to point out that they also receive the very highest levels of management support.
Temple shares with Axis a portfolio that includes a number of major multi-nationals requiring similar levels of service support. The contractor also provides officers to work in local Government buildings and hospitals.
Good news for customers and staff
Ray Empson of Temple believes the merger with Axis is good news for his customers and his staff alike.
Empson told SMT Online: “Axis recognises the success we’ve had in building a national operation, the effectiveness of our infrastructure and the diversity of our service offering.”
Empson concluded: “The knowledge of our operational strength, combined with the expertise of Axis Security’s management team, their attention to detail and our focus on the security officer as the most valuable of assets makes the combined business a powerful proposition to take to market.”
