Presentations to be selected in May

The deadline for submissions is 3 April. Presentations for the conference will be selected by the programme committee in May 2009.

Abstracts may be submitted online. See the dedicated link on the right hand panel of this page.

Newsletter of the Year Award

At the recent ASIS International Annual Meeting of the membership, it was announced that the organisation’s UK Chapter has won the 2008 Newsletter of the Year Award in Group 7 (Chapters with over 575 members).

The Newsletter last won the award in 2003, and won an Honourable Mention in 2006 (a year when there was no outright winner).

The quarterly Newsletter, which is distributed in both electronic and printed forms to the ASIS UK membership of around 750 operational practitioners, also has an external circulation of 8,000 in the UK, and is put together by the editorial team of Mike Hurst (Editor), Helene Carlsson and Graham Bassett.

Commenting on the award, Mike Hurst told SMT Online: “Communication with the membership is vitally important for the Chapter, and our Newsletter is central to this. The editorial team works hard to produce the best Newsletter we can, and it’s great to have that hard work recognised. We’re also extremely grateful to the very many leading security professionals who give up their time to write articles for the Newsletter, and share their knowledge and experience.”
