BSIA’s international ‘speed-dating’ event hailed a success
The event took the form of short, one-to-one, ‘speed-dating’ style business meetings between UK suppliers and overseas buyers. This year more than 450 meetings took place with buyers from countries such as Belgium, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Egypt, India, Morocco, Poland, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Sweden and Turkey.
“Meet the Buyers is a unique opportunity for the British security industry to showcase its talents to a number of key overseas buyers,” said BSIA Export Council Chairman, Mike Parry. “The event aims to ensure that overseas buyers and UK suppliers have a productive IFSEC by allowing them to have short meetings at the beginning of the show which can then be followed up with more in-depth briefings later in the week if required.”
“Last year’s event was a great success and has resulted in BSIA members and IFSEC exhibitors not only gaining networking opportunities, but also securing real business from the visiting buyers. I am pleased to say that this year’s event has proved to be just as popular and I’m sure it will herald equally as beneficial results.”
Meet the Buyers was held in conjunction with UK Trade & Investment, and the International Trade Promotion Centre. For more information on the work of the BSIA’s Export Council, visit www.bsia.co.uk/exporting
