UK security companies invade Intersec 2009

The exhibition runs from 18-20 January, and provides an excellent showcase for UK companies to highlight their capabilities and enthusiasm to potential clients from overseas. In addition, the UK solutions providers can explore markets in both Dubai and the wider Middle East region, and identify any future opportunities for joint venture partnerships.

As ever, the BSIA is attending the show as part of the UK Pavilion, hosting its own information point and facilitating the attendance of some of the UK’s leading security exporters (see the final section of this News Update item for full details).

Simon Everest – the head of the Security Directorate within the United Kingdom Trade and Investment, Defence and Security Organisation – will also be visiting the exhibition to support UK companies in attendance, and engage with local and regional Government security officials.

View from the BSIA’s Export Council

In conversation with info4security.com, the BSIA’s Export Council chairman Paul Ramsay commented: “Intersec brings together key players in the global security industry. It addresses those issues in which British companies play a fundamental role by providing innovative, quality and cost-effective security solutions. This prestigious event affords us the opportunity to share these solutions with the international marketplace.”

In response, Simon Everest stated: “I’m delighted at the significant UK presence at Intersec 2009, which reflects our commitment to both this exhibition and the region. The UK companies exhibiting boast significant capabilities, and I’m confident they can respond positively to any forthcoming requirements in the security sector. We’re very keen to see continued success on the security front, and to encourage more industrial partnerships in this important region.”

Looking to gain further Momentum

Specialist recruitment concern Momentum Security is one of the UK companies visiting the show. Stand 4723C is the place to find them if you’re paying the show a visit.

“We’re going to be networking with other industry experts and viewing the latest technological and product developments,” said Tom Craven, the company’s managing director. “We’ll be able to listen to and interact with over 30 regional and international experts at the Intersec Middle East and IOSH conferences, and build contacts with over 700 companies from 50 countries.”

There’ll be over 30 new product launches at the 2009 event, which is the largest of its kind for the security sector in the Middle East. “Intersec offers us the ideal platform to outline our innovative solutions to the recruitment needs of our existing Middle East clients and prospective clients,” concluded Craven.

AMG Systems showcases Vision 5000 Series

On the systems side, AMG Systems has announced that its new Vision 5000 Series will be showcased with live demonstrations. The true plug-and-play transmitters and receivers for video and associated data/alarms also incorporate a number of other features in direct response to client demand.

Founder and MD of AMG Systems Dr Alan Hayes told info4security: “We’ve developed a series of products ideally suited for security and surveillance applications. Our focus has been on low cost, low power, small size and high spec to deliver a series of high performance fibre optic CCTV transmission solutions.”

The Vision 5000 Series is further designed for environmentally challenging situations. Products in the range can be used for transmission distances of up to 80 km over optical fibre. The small size and low power further helps reduce costs associated with Control Room space, at the same time allowing for convenient mounting in the field.

The Vision 5000 product range is available as point-to-point video only, video + bi-directional data and video + bi-directional data and/or 2 unidirectional alarms. The transmitters are single channel video, and receivers are supplied for single or quad video channels. The products are compact and light with front panel LED indicators and a mean time between failure of over 250.000 hours.

AMG will be exhibiting at Stand 4710C in Hall 3.
