The W800 Automatic Surveillance system will be installed at the largest airport in the UK, where Navtech are sure it will provide continuous and effective surveillance of the perimeter.
The system, which was initially trialled at Gatwick, uses a high-frequency radar to scan 360 degrees ; automatically commanding CCTV to identify and track intruders. The new order from BAA is placed with Touchstone Electronics, who will install the new system at Heathrow.
“This first order from BAA for the W800 security radar for installation at Heathrow is a landmark contract for Navtech Radar,” remarked Andrew Rosenthal, Navtech Radar’s Managing Director.
He continued, “there is no question that BAA is our most prestigious UK customer to date.”
