New chairman for Corps Security

A chartered accountant, Tom Harris qualified with Price Waterhouse after obtaining a degree in chemistry from Oxford University.

His illustrious career includes eight years in Canada where he launched HMV into a 120-store retail chain.

Upon his return to the UK, he served as finance director for several companies including the UK retail arm of Body Shop, a major Virgin subsidiary and Mitsubishi Motors.

Harris’ most recent role was as chief financial officer for James Dyson, where he was heavily involved in the company’s international expansion and helped drive its profits to a total in excess of GB pound 100 million.

In fact, Harris has spent the last five years as a non-executive director of Corps Security and is delighted to be taking on the chairman’s role.

Speaking about his appointment, he said: “When the opportunity arose to become the chairman of this fine organisation it was one that I didn’t hesitate to seize. Corps Security’s prestigious history is a source of immense pride and inspiration to all its stakeholders, and I will ensure that dedication, integrity and the pursuit of excellence continues to be at the very heart of what we do.”

Outgoing chairman Clive Ward added: ‘The last three years have been an incredibly exciting time for all at Corps Security, and I take great satisfaction in leaving the company in a position that will enable it to take the challenges of the future in its stride.”

Commenting on the appointment of Tom Harris, Corps Security’s CEO Peter Webster stated: “It has been our immense privilege to have Clive Ward as our chairman and I would like to thank him for his work during his tenure.”

He added: “Given his enviable CV, we will benefit enormously from Tom’s experience and I know that he sees huge potential within Corps Security. We look forward to working with him to achieve our objectives.”
