Caught By The Fuzz was the debut single from Oxford’s Supergrass back in 1994.
It’s all about the boys in blue nabbing lead singer Gaz Coombes in possession of a dodgy substance, and is in the fine tradition of songs about being busted by the cops, such as I Fought The Law.
An interesting rumour about Supergrass is that Coombes has such luxuriant sideburns because he has no real skin on the sides of his face – the hair simply grows directly out of his exposed flesh. It seems unlikely to be true, sadly. Or happily, depending on your perspective.
