In honour of the recently launched full hand version of the Lumidigm Evolution biometric scanner, we present this classic 80s pop-metal singalong from professional haircut merchants Bon Jovi.
It’s a pretty moody, intense video initially, which is probably appropriate for such an important security development.
I’d actually be pretty happy if some kind of sensor could be triggered to play the chorus of this song as people approached the scanner. It’d certainly lighten the atmosphere and make the sensor itself feel like a fun piece of equipment.
If you wanted to go a little saucier, you might prefer Samantha Fox’s Touch Me (I Want Your Body). Either way, you’re sure to improve the security experience for everyone, and make a few extra quid for artists in dire need of exposure.
Never one to hold back in commenting on the proliferation of ‘Hair Metal’, SMT’s Editor Brian Sims adds: “Possibly the worst rock gig I’ve ever been to was Bon Jovi at Wembley Arena on the New Jersey tour. Funnily enough, they kicked off the set with Lay Your Hands On Me, which began with huge pyrotechnics and Jon Bon Jovi being propelled from below the stage to crowd front by way of a spring-loaded false floor. Alas, that ten-second spurt was the only interesting part of the evening, really. Still, you’ve got to love these boys. After all, if you were a headbanger in the mid-1980s and went to nightclubs, Bon Jovi were the only ‘metal’ band DJs would stick on the decks. Aside from Europe and The Final Countdown, that is. Oh dear… Looking back isn’t always a pleasant experience!”
