State of Physical Access Trend Report 2024

Working Groups established by the Security Alliance

The Security Alliance states that a number of Process Groups will be established to look in detail at the proposed operating model for the future of regulation in the security sector.

The Process Groups will address the mechanics of the intended process, compliance and enforcement issues, future standards development, skills development, the area of business licensing and administration and finance.

There will also be a number of Sector Groups that will review the proposed regulatory model and consider its relative impact on their own spheres of influence.

Those Sector Groups will cover the following areas:

  • security guarding, keyholding and response
  • Public Space Surveillance
  • door supervisors, the night-time economy and events
  • close protection
  • CVIT
  • devolved Governments (including Wales)

These groups will initially focus on the current scope of licensable activity (unless broadened in the SIA’s proposals).

However, further Working Groups may be created to address the needs of other sectors if it’s deemed there’s a pressing need to do so.

Who to contact if you want to take part…
