London end user event Global Security Summit to be held in 2012

This unique event for end users with security management and converged project responsibilities will see specialists, suppliers and partners, specifically related to their individual needs, meet under one roof.

Taking place in London from 10-11 October 2012, at the newly refurbished Olympia Exhibition and Conference Centre, this event is strategically co-located alongside UBM’s built environment exhibitions that attract over 7,000 end users – Total Workplace Management, the facilities management and estates event, M&E- The Building Services Event, and Energy Solutions, the UK’s principal exhibition dedicated to energy management and procurement.

Simon Parker, group director at UBM, said: “Global Security Summit is being launched to exclusively cater for the evolving convergence market place, where the integration of security solutions and building systems is now business critical.”

Mark Quittenton, managing director at Pro-Activ Publications, said: “Our partnership with UBM heralds a significant step forward for the industry; through the strategic pooling of our unrivalled knowledge and expertise of the marketplace, we are delighted to bring you Global Security Summit.

“Offering a fresh approach to exhibiting, networking and prospecting, the Summit is set to generate real business opportunities throughout the security and risk management arena.”

Unprecedented platform for end users
In the interest of consolidating and highlighting the benefits of converged solutions, PSIM and single point systems management, Global Security Summit will provide an unprecedented platform for senior end users from key vertical markets to aid future project planning, procurement activities, and professional development.

Recent market research conducted by UBM and Frost & Sullivan demonstrated that there is now a fundamental need for the convergence of systems across physical security and safety, logical security and communications, building control and lighting, and energy management.

The year long project also identified the emergence of new buying groups such as customer intelligence operations (CIO) due to the complexities of systems and vulnerabilities through the use of IP-enabled solutions.

Parker said: “This research has provided us with the market information and impetus to create a unique offering, providing a comprehensive platform for the convergence market; bringing together product innovations and services that are vital to those responsible for the complete security and facilities portfolio.”
