A: The SIA aims to process applications within six weeks, but this time only starts from when they receive a correctly completed form. If forms contain errors or omissions, the process can take longer.
Applicants subjected to Criminal Records Bureau checks may find themselves waiting longer than six weeks for their badge and last year’s postal strikes caused considerable disruption to the system, with some applicants waiting nine weeks for the go ahead.
The SIA’s advice is to check the status of your application on its website website before you undertake any licensable work. Although it’s a work in progress, the Application Status Checker should tell you whether or not your application has been received.
NB: Your completed application will only appear on the status checker once the SIA has checked it and scanned it into its system. This can take around five working days.

I was told my badge would arrive within 14 days however it’s now been 20 days and I am growing concerned. I have messaged SIA (no reply) and my calls haven’t been answered sometimes being on hold for 40 mins!

I’ve waited over two months for my sercurity liecence still not got it took my sia exam three months ago or bit longer ago

Have received email confirming that it’s has been granted bit up till date I haven’t received it. 2 months now

I did my exam around May (dont even remember…) then I finish with documentation included the tiring Overseas Criminality R. which they received and then sent back with a letter to confirm so. After all that it was around July. Now are 4 month…I am urgent in need now to work !!

U lads have it all lucky .. I have been waiting since July 2017 now April 2018 and still haven’t received my licence .. 10 other who did the course on the day received their me within a months or so .. 10months!!! 10 months!! And still nothing their quick to take your money and not reply but when shit hits the fan their nose here to be seen .. they know what is happening hence why they make it so hard to contact them directly ..
Badge licence takes about 6 weeks to be approved after you’ve applied and paid for it at the post office, and all that’s after you’ve been passed in exams lol
My license renewal letter received on 12 January 2021 but till now I couldn’t, received ID Badge.
It is already more than 12 weeks. When I could get it?
I renew my badge last year September is nearly 9 months I still I didn’t receive anything is anyone know contact number for sia please I hold sia license for more than 15 years but this time I can’t believe take long time is anyone here can help me some advice how can I get my license please thanks everyone

Hi I’m still waiting for my door security badge. I passed my training before the 1st lockdown in March last year. So I’m wondering why I haven’t received my licence yet?

Hello there I want to know when my license will arrive.
My CCTV licence has been sent off some weeks ago but nothing is appearing on my SIA account can anyone help with this please.

Nothing to do with when you did your exams, all about when you applied for your badge.
