£1m smoke control contract for Docklands

Smoke control systems for the landmark Crossharbour residential development in London’s Docklands will be provided by Smoke Control Services. The company has been appointed preferred supplier to the development of 700 apartments, part of a mixed use development on the site the former London Docklands Arena.
The company will be supplying Essex Electrical Group with mechanical smoke control systems for five of the apartment blocks and a smoke extraction system for each car park. Installation of smoke control systems at Crossharbour will stary in early July with work due to last a year.
The contract follows the firm’s recent success at the Construction Specialist Awards, where it won best fire safety specialist of the year.
Smoke Control Services has worked on a variety of projects including the refurbished London Transport Museum and the Wetsfield retail and leisure development in London’s White City, which is said will be London’s largest shopping centre when it opens later this year
