Axis reports demand for network video training
The company said its academy has been made popular by the increased use of network cameras around the world, but that the main driver is the continued shift from analogue CCTV to IP-based video surveillance systems.
“The market for network video products is currently growing [at] about 40 per cent per year, creating a great need for knowledge exchange,” said Anders Laurin, executive vice president of marketing at Axis.
“This has become very evident in the market response for Axis’ academy. In 2007 alone, we will educate close to 3000 persons in more than 35 different countries and we expect to see much higher numbers in 2008.”
Simon Barnard, technology director at IDC, a UK-based system integrator, took part in a recent academy session.
“Axis’ academy allows us to interact closely with Axis staff, which is very beneficial for us,” he said.
“But just as important is the possibility to share ideas and discuss business opportunities and technology trends with peers in the industry.”
