State of Physical Access Trend Report 2024

Best read stories on info4security: January 2009

There was a clear winner in the coveted race for ‘most read story on info4security’ this month – and, perhaps unsurprisingly, it was our own Alan Hyder’s interview with Norbain boss Alun John. This was described by US IP security commentator John Honovich as ‘the best security executive interview I have ever read‘. That was nice.

Also in the top 10 was our round up of the best read stories of 2008. Interesting reading.

In a somewhat significant month for US politics, venerable SMT Online editor Brian Sims provided a round-up of the security measures in place to protect Barack Obama at his inauguration.

And there was justifiable interest in a piece on the possible effect of Cisco’s entry into the surveillance market.

A report suggested that 47 top guarding companies are in danger; and an article on the impact of the Health and Safety Offences Act 2008 proved irresistible to many.

Elsewhere, the state of the UK’s nuclear security was examined; shoulder mounted cameras proved effective at combating hospital thugs; and a new auction site offering excess installer kit was launched.

A cheery story about PIPS’ ANPR systems being used by repo men rounds out the top stories of January 2009.
