BII seeks excellence in door supervision training

The BII has just announced a Call for Entries to the NITAs – the most prestigious recognition of training excellence available to the licensed retail industry.

The door supervision sector has been raising its game in the wake of Security Industry Authority (SIA) licensing and, in keeping with the increasingly professional nature of the sector, the British Institute of Innkeeping (BII) is looking for evidence of training Best Practice.

The category of Door Supervisor Training Award – sponsored by Awarding Body the BIIAB and City & Guilds – was won last year by NALDS Training of Braintree in Essex, the company commended by the Judges for “displaying clear evidence of an enthusiastic and reflective approach to planning, monitoring and adapting its training provision in light of experience gained.”

Run in association with SMT and Security Installer’s sister CMP Information magazine The Publican, the BII NITAs invite submissions from individual door supervision trainers and companies alike.

Free consultancy on training programmes

Commenting on the awards, BII marketing director Sue Medhurst explained: “In essence, entering the BII’s NITAs is a superb opportunity for business and individuals to receive free consultancy on their training programmes. The judging process for the NITAs is among the most rigorous in Britain, with the independent Judging Panel featuring some of the most influential and well-respected names in the industry. Each entrant is afforded personal and confidential feedback on their submission.”

All entries are assessed on their merits irrespective of the size of the organisation or the number of people being trained. Entrants do not have to be members of the BII.

The deadline for entries is 5.00 pm on Monday 1 September.
