Bosch expands Plena system
[
Bosch Security Systems has introduced new features to its Plena Voice Alarm System. These comprise additional remote control panels, a firefighter’s panel and a new inductive-loop solution for hearing-aid user assistance in public buildings.
Remote control panels and, if required, extensions, enable the the system to be located in a fire-resistant cabinet or other secure location. Each panel duplicates the controls and indicators on the Plena central controller and routers (used in a multiple-zone application), including the built-in emergency microphone. The panels allow control up to a distance of 1000 meters with connection through CAT5 shielded cable. In some situations the remote control panels can be used as a firefighter’s control panel.
The firefighter’s panel has similar functionality to the remote control panels and now includes large control buttons for EVAC and alarm messaging, and fault and EVAC acknowledge and reset. A combination of up to two firefighter’s panels and remote control panels or kits can be made.
In response to increasing legislation on disability, specifically for hearing, Bosch now provides a second solution to its Integrus infrared wireless language distribution system for hearing-aid assistance. The new solution is the EVAC-compliant Plena Loop Amplifier that allows everyone in public buildings to hear the same announcements or music in a given area. It allows users of hearing aids that employ T-mode to hear sound with high speech quality and music reproduction.
The system is a comprehensive range of ‘plug-and-play’ elements designed for cost-effective public address and voice alarm installations for small and medium sized applications.
