British maritime heritage protected by ADT system

Electrical contractors, EIC Electrical called in ADT to install an intruder alarm, CCTV, a Minerva MX fire alarm and a public address and voice alarm system at the site.
The museum aims to develop a greater understanding of boats and maritime heritage and inspire new boat design by displaying a range of artefacts, including working and leisure boats. The system has been specified to ensure employees, visitors and artefacts are kept safe from fire and crime.
Andy Wooldridge, area sales manager at ADT’s Plymouth branch, said: "One of the main features of the security system will be an intruder alarm system, but this will be backed up by the installation of 12 CCTV cameras."

The CCTV cameras are to be placed throughout the museum and on the outside concourse, and will be monitored by on-site security personnel. In addition the Minerva MX will differentiate between the smoke and temperature patterns of real fires and typical false alarm sources.
Meanwhile the PA and Voice Alarm system uses both tone and speech to minimise panic during security or fire alerts and enable effective evacuations.
