The code provides guidance for the operation and management of CCTV within a controlled environment. It applies to CCTV schemes used in public places, and has the dual purpose of assisting users to understand their legal obligations and reassuring the public about the safeguards that should be in place.
BSI has also introduced a new edition of BS5266-1 – Code of Practice for the emergency lighting of premises. It now covers emergency lighting in cinemas giving guidance and recommendations on the design, installation and wiring of emergency lighting systems to meet the requirements of Euro standards.
