“The security industry has a vital role in society protecting both people and assets,” BSIA chief executive David Dickinson said. “It is, therefore, by definition, making an important contribution to counter-terrorism activities.
“Not only are private security officers involved in wider policing family initiatives such as Project Griffin in London, but our members are also providing comprehensive security solutions across the board to organisations wishing to consolidate their security.”
Dickinson pointed to a number of recent examples of BSIA companies securing UK organisations as examples of their involvement in the fight against terrorism.
“For example, one BSIA member has recently installed a state of the art access control system at Bristol International Airport, contributing to the safety and security of the 4.6 million passengers which pass through its doors each year.”
