BSIA launches Apprentice Installer Awards

The awards are open to any apprentice working for a security company that has been certified by a UKAS-accredited body.

Apprentices can enter if they are involved in the installation of alarms, access control or CCTV, but the scheme is designed for third year and particularly outstanding second year apprentices. Individuals can also be nominated by their college.

The call for entries comes during the first-ever Apprentice Week, which runs from the 25th-29th February.

BSIA technical director, Alex Carmichael, said the electronic sector of the security industry relies on the enthusiasm and talent of its people.

“Apprenticeships are a vital means of harnessing this talent and of providing installers with an excellent grounding in their chosen career,” he said.

“The BSIA’s Apprentice Installer Awards recognise the cream of the security industry’s apprentices and are a fitting tribute to the enthusiasm and commitment of the new blood of our industry.”
