Detection areas will be set up to cover the areas of highest crime and the results monitored over several weeks. The system uses COE’s X-Net G3 IP video codec.
ADT’s Eric Roberts said the results from the trial “could influence how rail operators monitor and maintain their infrastructure, because effective analytics allow accurate and timely detection of malicious activity across the rail network. Graffiti is a real issue for train operators and the costs of cleaning and repair are significant”.
COE Group chief executive Andrew Wallace said: “The analytics system has a unique architecture which allows multiple rules to run on just one video stream, and reduces false alarm rates.”
