Control Center gets advanced redundancy features
The upgrade builds on IndigoVision’s existing distributed solution that allows NVRs to be transparently located at any point on the network, removing the single-point failures that can affect traditional analogue or DVR recording systems.
With the new patch, NVRs are able to work as failover backups and mirrors for primary recorders. Backup recorders can be set to continuously record the same video as the primary NVR in parallel, or automatically takeover recording if the primary NVR fails.
The backup NVRs, which can be located away from the primary NVRs, continuously monitor the primary NVRs to check availability and synchronise configurations.
Several backup NVRs can monitor a single primary NVR and, conversely, a single backup NVR can monitor several primary NVRs – creating what IndigoVision describes as “sophisticated webs of NVR redundancy”. User can set their level of redundancy after analysing costs and risks to their business.
The latest Control Center upgrade also includes new features like video bookmarks and advanced IRIS control for PTZ cameras.
