Datatag targets bike security
Datatag recently joined forces with the Leicestershire Constabulary in a bid to thwart potential bike thieves attending the famed British Motorcycle Grand Prix at Donington Park.
The Weybridge-based manufacturer’s electronic property marking system relies on a secure database that allows police to check the registered owner of any type of property ‘marked’ by it.
For the British Grand Prix, computer equipment was installed at the Donington Police hq, allowing on-site officers to check owners’ details instantly. No thefts were reported during the entire weekend-long event.
