DDS wins major Olympics contract
DDS Security beat off competition from major companies to scoop the contract and will now look after access at 10 of the event’s main venues including the Olympic Village, the Olympic Sports Centre Stadium and the Baseball Stadium.
The contract makes DDS responsible for 60 per cent of the doors in use at the Games.
An “all-in-one” card security solution will be used by some 15,000 athletes in the Olympic Village, which features 700 doors and 200 lifts.
Single proximity badges will be used for entering buildings, parking lots and sport facilities.
“The Chinese Olympic Committee had very specific security requirements,” said DDS co-founder Binyamin Machado.
“DDS’s customised solutions, combined with the professional services provided by our technical support team, helped us win these projects.”
DDS has nine offices in China, and has installed access control and alarm management solutions at government and state institutions.
“Among all of our Chinese installations, DDS is particularly proud to acknowledge these projects and to participate in this manner in the Olympic Games” Machado added.
China is investing an estimated $300m in security for the Olympic Games.
