State of Physical Access Trend Report 2024

Double camera launch for Basson

The BVHQ is a fully-cable-managed camera that marries Samsung Digital Noise Reduction technology together with Sony’s Super-HAD chipset.

Basson MD Martin McCormick said the inclusion of Samsung DNR technology means the camera can be used in very low light conditions without the need to rely on infrared.

“A slight amount of ambient light is all that is required to be present for the BVHQ to perform,” he said. “The BVHQ amplifies this small amount of light, giving you crisp, bright images even in the murkiest of surroundings.

“The BVHQ has an engineer-friendly easy-access panel on the underside of the camera that can be removed in order to adjust the OSD, and plug in a test monitor during the installation.”

Also released is the IRBDVHQ. This is a new day/night, cable-managed 2.8mm-12mm Varifocal 560 TVL, 12v DC static infrared R dome camera.

It also utilises the Sony Super-HAD chipset and Samsung DNR technology. The DNR continues to work after the IR LEDs are activated, ensuring a bright and crisp image in night time monochrome conditions, McCormick says.

Both cameras come with Basson’s five year warranty – standard on products in its Professional Plus range.
