Drywall system EN fire test data
[
British Gypsum says it has become the first company to publish comprehensive fire test data for drywall systems to both BS and EN standards.
The data, which was collected during a 3-year EN testing programme at the company’s Building Test Centre fire laboratories at East Leake, was published during July in the latest edition of its White Book. Presented in the form of dual BS and EN performance tables, the data covers all of the company’s wall, floor, ceiling and encasement systems.
The new EN test standards, which are generally more rigorous than existing BS standards, are not expected to become compulsory in the UK for some years. They are, however, increasingly being adopted as best practice for larger projects and by architects looking to ‘future-proof’ their specifications.
