SmartWater is a liquid substance that acts in a similar way to DNA profiling, and contains a unique forensic code to provide absolute proof of ownership of marked goods. The high price of copper has inspired criminals to smash substation doors, take down fencing, and even remove bricks from walls in order to steal the metal from electricity sites.

CE Electric is using SmartWater to identify and prosecute the perpetrators responsible and deter future thieves.
