Portsmouth Football Club, this year’s FA Cup winners, have chosen Dorgard fire door retainers to help protect staff and visitors at their Fratton Park stadium.
The wireless devices have been installed in offices and storerooms at the stadium, to hold open fire doors safely in any position, automatically releasing them should the fire alarm sound.
“In most cases, Dorgards are installed on fire doors in busy administrative areas like corridors where there’s a lot of movement between offices,” said a Potsmouth FC spokesperson. “We are very aware of our responsibilities under new fire safety law such as ensuring that fire doors are not wedged open and exits not obstructed. The neatness of the Dorgard concept gets around this problem very effectively.”
