With almost half of facilities managers saying that fire safety is a ‘significant area’ for them, Adrian Newton, portfolio director of safety and building management at UBM Live, reports on how the topic will be showcased at Facilities Show 2012 in May.
Fire safety legislation and best practice must be taken seriously by anyone managing commercial premises and is therefore a vital element of a facilities manager’s role. Research carried out after Facilities Show 2011 (www.facilitiesshow.com) reflected this, bringing to light that 44% of visitors to the show considered fire prevention a significant area of interest within their professional lives. This was reflected in the exhibitor make-up of last year’s show which included companies such as Geofire, Lincoln Security, Titan Fire & Security, Walker Fire, Intersept, Fire Safety Services (UK) Ltd and many others, all of whom provided visitors to the show with best practice advice tailored specifically for those working within the diverse and challenging FM remit.
Fire safety contractors will be well represented at the Facilities Show
In line with its recent growth, the content at Facilities Show diversifies and expands every year. The fire industry will be well represented again this May (15-17) and will showcase new exhibitors including FSE Fire Safety Systems and Churches Fire Security, both of which have expressed their enthusiasm for reaching the broad Facilities Show audience:
“The Facilities Show is a fantastic event to help raise awareness of Churches Fire and its subsidiaries,” said Louise Martin of Churches Fire Security Ltd. “We will be talking directly with key decision-makers within facilities management and director roles. We want people to see that we offer the complete package of fire safety care including fire risk assessments and training, as well as installation and service and maintenance of fire extinguishers, alarm systems, sprinkler systems and more.”
She added: “By offering the full service, facilities managers can rest assured their fire needs are fully catered for by just one supplier – minimising resource time and costs. Visitors to our stand will have the opportunity to discuss their fire safety needs with our experienced staff, view and try out some of our products, and browse our online training programme – plus walk away with some goodies!”
Similarly, FSE Fire Safety Systems have highlighted the potential for increased efficiency with sensible planning saying; “We have chosen to exhibit at Facilities Show 2012 because at FSE Fire Safety Systems Limited, we believe it is a great opportunity to showcase our range of fire safety products to facilities management companies and procurement managers. It also shows our potential clients how much money they could save without compromising on quality or safety. Facilities Show has a superb reputation and we are looking forward to a successful event.”
A record 250 exhibitors are expected at Facilities Show
Running over three days, and co-located with IFSEC International and Safety & Health Expo, Facilities Show offers visitors and exhibitors with the unique opportunity to network with, and learn from, key industry leaders from these three complementary protection and management sectors. IFSEC International will provide further fire content with Fire Solutions, bringing together numerous fire safety manufacturers and a comprehensive Learning Zone from info4fire.com.
A record 250 exhibitors are expected at Facilities Show reflecting the scale and diversity of this ever growing sector. Visitors will have the chance to engage with companies and service providers from the worlds of energy management, maintenance, security, vending, parking, waste management, information technology, cleaning, health and safety, interiors, office management and sustainability. Visitors will also have the opportunity to relax in the show’s largest ever networking bar and VIP lounge.
