Fire & Rescue 2009 seminar programme unveiled

Dynamic risk assessments, incident command and passenger evacuation are among the topics to be covered at this year’s Fire & Rescue seminar programme, which aims to cover the most prominent issues facing the fire service today.
The free to attend seminars will run alongside the Fire & Rescue exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham from 12-14 May. Taking place in the Fire & Rescue learning zone, the educational sessions will focus on the following topics:
- The Potential of Rapidly Evolving Technology to Transform the Implementation of ICS, Mutual Aid and Interoperability – hosted by VectorCommand.
- Incident Command – hosted by The Fire Service College.
- Road Safety – hosted by Alan Pellowe and Trudi Maybury, West Midlands Fire Service.
- Passenger Evacuation Management System (PEMS) followed by Ballistic Parachute Systems – hosted by John Armson, DCFO, Robin Hood Airport.
- Delivering Diversity in the Fire Service – hosted by SFL.
- Dynamic Risk Assessment: Different Things to Different People – hosted by Bill Gough, Operational Intelligence Manager, West Midlands Fire Service.
- Trauma Care in the Modern Fire Service: Doing the Simple Things Well – hosted by Darren North, Watch Commander, West Midlands Fire Service.
