First IP monitoring project in Poland
With up to 1500m between cameras in the town of Wodzislaw Slaski and the control room, installers SUMA were keen to use a wireless solution but less keen to compromise on image quality. Despite the large distances involved in this installation, ACTi are confident that the video quality is as good as an analogue solution.
Six ACTi cameras were installed in the project, all of them IP speed domes. Each camera is said to have worked well with wireless devices and government officials have been able to access the video under ID/ password authority. According to SUMA three IQinVision megapixel cameras are also being used in the installation.
ACTi’s MPEG-4 ASP compression technology has been implemented to decrease the size of recording files, which will in turn reduce the cost of any ongoing surveillance.
After managing the project and seeing recordings, the city officials are said to be ‘very happy with the deployment of ACTi IP cameras with Milestone software.’
Milestone and ACTi have worked together before, migrating systems at Monash University in Australia from analogue to IP.
