Former policeman joins Unipart management team
Wilkins’ appointment as operations director is part of the company’s ongoing expansion programme, which has seen it move beyond existing logistics clients into areas like consultancy, CCTV monitoring and manned guarding.
“This is an exciting opportunity for me to contribute to the success of a new, dynamic project within the Unipart Group,” Wilkins said.
Wilkins left the Met in 1988 to concentrate on a career in commercial security, working firstly as group head of security for MFI, the furniture retailer, and then with Sainsbury’s, DHL Express and Tradeteam (part of the DHL network).
