The Interfron range of backpack and hydraulic power units give emergency crews freedom from power supplies and hydraulic extensions, therefore reducing entanglements and cutting accidents in low visibility, high risk environments.
At the heart of manufacturer GSF Slides’ range are the SP700 and VP700, both of which can be fitted with hydraulic connectors to operate rescue tools from major manufacturers including: Holmatro, Amkus, Lukas, Zumro, Weber, TNT, Lancier, Nike Centaur, ResOtec and Enerpac. The unit weighs roughly 18kg (40lbs) and can be adjusted to use hydraulic pressure at 5100, 9200 and 10500 psi.
The VP700 also features integral control valves to enable control of extensions such as hydraulic rams, which often have no inbuilt controls. It is also watertight to a depth of 2m, making it suitable for sea and water rescues.
“Our backpacks have 30 minutes of operational use and it takes seconds to refit a new battery. Early adopters of the Interfron power-packs are already seeing more operational advantages” said Jon Lye, managing director of GSF.
